So many times in my creative endeavors have I ran into wall because I didn’t know something or couldn't find the right resource. The solution for this was that training myself to think outside the box by trying to work around it using what I already knew, instead of trying to learn something all over again. That was the very thing that allowed me to finish projects months ahead of schedule because I was willing to think outside the box. The more you push yourself, the further you'll take your creativity. If you want something done, give it to a busy person. In other words, when people are busy they tend to focus on one task at hand. Why is this important when it comes to creativity? Well... It makes you think outside the box By trying to be productive with your time, you will automatically force yourself to focus on one task at hand. This means you will try to get things done in the most efficient way possible. What happens when you do this? You get used to thinking outside the box. You train your imagination to find solutions. You train your skillset to work with what you have instead of having everything handed to you over-the-top. Are there times when using the right tool for the job is important? Absolutely. But not always is the tool that has the right answer. It makes you think outside of your comfort zone Have you ever had to do something that was outside of your comfort zone? Most likely, the answer is yes. There are many forms of creativity, but let's focus on two particular types. You are most likely familiar with the second type of creativity which is called "the procrastination type". The Procrastination type of creativity tends to be anxiety-ridden and full of fear. Many times, this type of creativity will be associated with extreme perfectionism or a very high level of anxiety. That doesn't mean that all procrastination creators are high-strung people though. eccc085e13
